Once the baby arrives you need 8 more hands to assist you with everything. I expertly care for your physical and emotional needs so you can focus on what is important and let me do the rest.
ABOUT ME
Originally from the Midwest, my husband and I fell in love with Colorado 14 years ago and decided to make it our home. We have 2 children—a daughter in 2nd grade and a 4-year-old son (and Golden Mountain Dog). I’m an avid tennis player & runner, completing my first marathon in 2022. I love being able to tap into my creative side via hosting parties, arts & crafts, cooking, decorating for holidays, and photography. I want to instill in my children a love for the outdoors, travel, reading, and philanthropy.
In addition to my doula specific training, I have a psychology and sociology undergrad degree from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science from Creighton University.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CARE PROVIDER?
I will empathically listen and assist families in creating a custom experience that addresses their specific needs and wants. While I’m a go-getter who gets things done with minimal direction, I also understand the necessity of offering an authentic and calm presence. Rarely in life do things go exactly as planned, especially with children; adaptability and flexibility are key in helping families problem solve and find solutions that reflect their parenting style and choices.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING ABOUT THIS WORK?
I get the privilege and honor of being a mom’s lifeline. In arguably one of the most emotion filled and vulnerable times in someone’s life, I’m invited into the home to provide support and share in the experience. I get to help normalize all of the emotions and obstacles brought on by the 4th trimester. I did not find the transition into motherhood easy and aiding others through the process smoothly is exceptionally rewarding.
WHAT SETS ME APART FROM OTHERS?
I understand how hard it is to ask for help. I pride myself on being a strong, independent person. I don’t always want to ask for help or let people in, especially during such a vulnerable time. My dedication to provide non-judgmental support and encouragement is a top priority. I’m extremely self-motivated and will work to ease stress of a newborn so mom can focus on bonding and self-care. Motherhood has really taught me that asking for help doesn’t make one weak; on the contrary, asking for support shows intuition and strength. There is no prize for struggling through life alone. I think Helen Keller said it best “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.
